The Captain's Pre-Reminiscence: The Brain Mutinies

"Pass this Bill!"

I know that folks sometimes think they've used up the benefit of the doubt but I'm an eternal optimist,I believe if you just stay at it long enough, after they've exhausted all the other options, folks do the right thing."
President Obama

This is the captain speaking. Some misguided sailors on this ship still think they can pull a fast one on me. Well, they're very much mistaken. Since you've taken this course, the innocent will be punished with the guilty.. . . I will not be made a fool of! Do you hear me?

Lt. Commander Phillip Francis Queeg

". . .I’m going to be judged by whether we have stayed focused on making sure that this economy is moving in the right direction. And like the captain of a ship in a storm, you know, when the ship is rocking and people are getting hurt, they’re not going to be happy, no matter how good the captain’s doing. Now, my hope is that when we are on the other side of it, folks will look back and say, “You know, he wasn’t a bad captain of the ship.” What I tell everybody I meet whether they voted for me or they didn’t is, “This country always gets through these storms. We always right the ship. And we will this time as well.”

Sail on, Oh, Ship of State.

Copenhagen Again? Mr. President, You are 0-2 there. Go to Kankakee River State Park and Think Things Over.

"We are running short on time," he said. "We are ready to get this done today. But there has to be movement on all sides."

President Obama wants Health Care Something before Santa squeezes his cheeks down my Chimney.

Kim Jong Il put Obama's letter of concern about North Korean Aggression on his WI Golf. Oh yeah, he'll get back to you.

Send Troops! Cut Troops! Get Blacker Fast! Andy Stern is on the Red Phone! Card Check! Carbon Foot-Prints! Cap'n Trade! Tiger Can't Play Anymore! GW is looking Good! Saturday Night Live Tomorrow!

Chill.

You inherited this eight year mess from George Bush - we got it. Big Ed Schultz has it on 10.

Comb Over Dave and Rahm-a-Lama- Dang-Dong are pinching pectorals to make things look Okay, but things are bad.

Mr. President, five years ago you were a back-bencher in Springfield with a huge loss to Bobby Rush under your belt. You wanted to craft your biography. You did. However, you do not have much of a resume. Let's face it. Short Bus Sweeney could direct the Woods Fund. Send check to whomever Bill Ayers designates. Teach constitutional Law?
Not much of a stretch there, I'd say. I taught very low level American & British Lit. ( Breathing for Credit) to 37 Dukes of Hazard fans. That was taxing.

Nope. You can not rush things.

For instance, say Obama and his party had not muscled through a $787 billion stimulus package and spent nearly that much to rescue banks and car companies. Most experts say those steps averted the collapse of the U.S. economy. A collapse would have been, suffice it to say, far more upsetting to voters than the bailouts and deficit spending they are criticizing now.

Moving along to health reform, some pundits argue that Obama should have punted or gone small or written the darn bill himself to avoid the messy, irritating marathon now in progress. But delay or small ball would have left the field wide open for stories about health insurance horrors, Obama reneging on a central campaign pledge, and the general incompetence of Democrats. As for writing the bill himself, that came to naught for the Clintons in 1994. In any case, as many senators are now making perfectly clear, there is no way to control a senator who does not want to be controlled.

Obama has also raised expectations with his foreign trips, and as he headed for the Copenhagen climate summit, the Republican Party helpfully released an archive of negative assessments of his travels. On the other hand, what if Obama hadn't gone to Copenhagen in October to argue for a Chicago Olympics, or again this week to try to cement international progress on global warming? Then we would be hearing about how he might have made a difference but he didn't care, or he didn't try hard enough.

The truth is that presidents are hostages to fortune. George W. Bush had an 84 percent approval rating at this point in his first term because it was just after the 9/11 attacks. Obama is at the same level as Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, and that should be no surprise. All three inherited bad economies.

Yikes. Come home. Stay home for a while. Copenhagen - you are 0 and 2 - Chicago and the Climate Dodge. Mr. President, You are Willy Loman.

Go to Kankakee River State Park and sort things out over the Christmas Holidays.

Stop at Maple Tree Inn in Blue Island and treat the kids and Missus to Tommy's Smoked Ribs and smothered greens. Get the deep fried Green Tomatoes and Dill Pickles.

Pray.

Get some sleep. Fire some retainers. Start Anew.

White House Robert Gibbs -"It's a Touch of Cancer."

I went to a wake at Sheehy & Sons on 79th Street once and asked the widower what his wife had succumbed to -"T'was nothing serious, so." the County Kerry gent offered.

Following yesterday's National Tune-up of the Hope & Change White House, Stephen Root playing Robert Gibbs offered this -

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters that the president viewed the Republican victories in New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial races as referenda on local issues that reflect little on his policies in Washington.

"People went to the polls and voted on local issues not to either register support for or opposition to the president," Gibbs said. Asked whether moderate lawmakers might view the results differently, and worry about casting tough votes on Obama's priorities, Gibbs said no.

"I don't think they will and I'm not concerned," he said.

As my Irish Cousins might say "It's a Touch of Cancer is all."

Another 'Teachable Moment' Van Beck Beer Summit

Now here is a 'Teachable Moment' - Every time President Obama has stepped on the old John Dog, he has seen fit to make a collective guilt trip for all Americans.

Van Jones - a middleclass punk loudmouth like Billy Ayers is giving the Amateur Hour Obama White House the miseries. Czar Jones is not new. In fact, he mirrors the President in so many ways - handsome, well dressed, verbally gifted and insulated. President Obama is a middle class kid who eased into power through the board rooms of monied 501(c) 3 Boards - not precinct captain level Chicago politics. The Progressive route buys power and influence and never admits an error, sin or mistake

Personally, I'll take a few cuts from the flails of fortune for my own idiocies - gambling, getting gin-drunk, and acting the Corinthian with the Fast Smart Set. On me, whip away!

However, President Obama has made a career out of collective work - 501(c)3 Foundations headed up by the Barney Google of Leftist Terrorism - Billy Ayers and then using the funding from Woods Fund with State multipliers as a State Senator to offer 'systemic' changes, like tossing bucks to collectivist lawyers and real estate HUD swindlers ( Tony Rezko/Allsion Davis/Cullen Davis & etc.). It's all good.

You see Obama Power is Progressive Collective Power ( Lefty PACS/SEIU/ACLU?Planned Parenhood?MOVEon.org/Foundations & etc.)! Everyone is involved -whether they like it, suffer under it or profit by it. President Obama is no Chicago politician. He is the Progressive Collectivist.

He acts and you feel. Van Jones is a punk with whom Americans have become all too familiar with since meeting Barack Obama - an insulated, middle class, radical loudmouth with Foundation money. He is a handsome black Billy Ayers -kind of like Taye Diggs meets Gabby Hayes - they are very much the same. Punks they be - protected and insulated by fortune and the laws they wish to destroy. Czar Jones it seems just might only have hours left in his mastership of the Obama Green Suzerain.

Now, Labor Day Weeekend, might be just the time - again- that our Collectivist Progressive President calls another beer summit with Glenn Beck and Van Jones beer bonging for All of America's Collective Guilt.

Everything is just a distraction.
