The Racism of Sleep - I got Mine!

" Now, what in the wide world of sports were you doing asleep?"

Mayor Richard M. Daley will not depose, descant, opine, chat, gab, wax-eloquent, posit, or spill-it in matters Burge, thanks to another in the endless City of Chicago payoffs to G. Flint Taylor Industries (AKA -  Some Peoples Law Office).  Did we expect anything less than millions more dollars tossed to Herr Flint? Hmmm?  Not this Hairpin, anyway. Thus,

The city on Monday moved to settle the latest round of lawsuits involving former police Cmdr. Jon Burge, bringing the total cost to taxpayers for alleged victims and lawyers in the torture probe to an eye-popping $40 million.
But under the settlement, former Mayor and State's Attorney Richard M. Daley will avoid having to give sworn testimony.
The city's action came when the City Council Committee on Finance accepted the recommendation of Corporation Counsel Steve Patton to settle for $7.2 million two cases that had been headed to court. . . . Flint Taylor, an attorney for Mr. Tillman, had a slightly higher figure for taxpayer costs to date: roughly $45 millionHe released a statement from Mr. Tillman saying that while "no amount of money can fix" what happened to him, "I am pleased that the city . . . (has) finally recognized that their people did me wrong." ( emphasis my own)

G. Flint Taylor will be sucking up tax-dollars so long that he asks and that they last in celebration of Jon Burge and the mythical Midnight Crew.  Don't waste a minute's sleep with worry on that score.

Systemic Racism leads to the arrest, torture,  confession, indictment, conviction, sentencing, incarceration, media scrutiny and re-evaluation of the process, subsequent pardon, or re-trial, release, hefty-pay-off and public celebration of any African American career-criminal. There, but Fortune . . . & etc.

I imagine that G. Flint Taylor sleeps like a champ. Why?  One could, were one cynical helot like myself,  imagine that G. Flint is a dedicated Cadillac Commie and devouted Marxist intent upon destroying not only the local government budgets, but eroding any and all faith in Law and Law Enforcement.  Or, one might say that G. Flint Taylor is a sho'nuff Atticus Finch-like advocate of the damned and self-less hero of the Peoples.
However, there just meigh* be another reason - the Dude's a White Boy!

The average amount of time people sleep each night varies from race to race, according to a study of 500 Chicago-area adults by Northwestern Medicine in Chicago.
Whites sleep the most, followed by Asians and Hispanics. Blacks sleep the least.
The study also said that blacks have the worst quality of sleep, while Asians have the highest amount of daytime sleepiness.

How about that for Systemic Racism taxonomy!

White Folks - Counting Dollars

Asians = Too much Study?
Hispanics =Well . . .

African Americans = Five Minutes are Up! Break Time's Over!

This study was concluded by Northwestern University School of Medicine - Northwestern University, where the Center for Wrongful Convictions, Berardine Dorhn's  Two Decades of Children and Family Justice Center, the Bluhm Legal Clinic, Roderick MacArthur Center for Justice ( formerly at University of Chicago)

In no time at all - The Systemic Racism Sleep Disorders Institute of Northwestern Law and Meds and Some Peoples Law Office will trot out the Post-Burge Conviction for Only Perjury Disorders  and really level the old agenda playing fields.

Them White Folks can sleep in court!

City Council Unanimously Votes Ban On Torture -Another Meaningless Bit of Self-Puffery by 50 Needy People

Sister Benita Coffey and the Coalitions she represents.

This morning, Chicago Tribune's opinion page featured another in the endless shower of Police Torture screeds. This was written by Bendictine Sister Benita Coffey and has all of the value of a Confederate $100 Bill.

Here is a taste:

Last week, the Chicago City Council unanimously passed a resolution against torture, a symbolic act, at best. Torture is inhumane, banned by the United Nations and most civilized nations, and is contrary to the core beliefs of the world's major religions.

So why are the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, the Illinois Coalition Against Torture and religious communities like mine lauding this as a historic event? We shouldn't have had to ask our elected officials to pass legislation proscribing torture. It seems to be basic common sense, instinctive human behavior to abhor torture. To inflict cruel and inhuman treatment is beneath us as human beings.

While applauding our city's leaders for making Chicago the first city in the nation to condemn torture, we are certainly not seeing our goal anywhere near being accomplished. This is one deliberate and necessary step. It will indeed be a long road to raise the consciousness of the general public that torture is a reality; it is happening and likely will continue until we demand that it stop.

If memory serves, Sister, Jesus joined no Coalition. Plenty of torture going around, his cousin got himself beheaded and all, but Jesus never signed up with the Sicarri, or Zealots, in their Coalition Against The Stooge Puppet King Herod and Roman Imperialists Masters and Crucifiers. Like Free Mumia, I recall that the crowd that demanded Jesus get a tune-up by the cohort prior to crucifixion, demanded Free Barabbas! Now, those folks were committed activists, Sister.

Sister decries the fact that the media paid not enough attention to her and the various coalitions. Sister, we have more Coalitions than Mount Carmel has football championship trophies and yet kids are murdered with impunity because lawyers get fat overturning convictions on meme that police torture, lie, intimidate and use saracasm.

Sister Benita Burge's Up -
The day also presented the opportunity for us to address another type of torture — prolonged solitary confinement. In Illinois, the Tamms Correctional Center is a supermax facility that incarcerates inmates in solitary confinement, often for months or years at a time, which mental health professionals define as torture. Here in Chicago, to our shame, former Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge and officers under him tortured some 200 suspects to the point of confessing to crimes they did not commit. These victims were imprisoned while most of those who tortured, except Burge, who was convicted of a related crime, remain free.

Mental Health professionals? Incarceration of crazy thugs is torture - health care provided, educational opportunities abound, legal access to Lawsuit Lotto Lawyers, no to mention shelter, meals, and wardrobe; unlike the victims of these thugs, incarcerated under dirt until Judgement Day.

Sister Benita brings it home to Council and the Coalitions -This resolution declaring Chicago a torture-free city is a momentous occasion. We can be proud that our City Council can be called on to stand by its word and demand accountability if such violent treatment should ever again occur.

Sorry Sister, this is but another sanctimoniously meaningless bit of self-puffering from 50 people doing nothing meaningful, Sister.

Jon Burge was convicted of perjury after years of media bear-baiting and legal legerdemain.

G. Flint Taylor and legions of other fatuous opportunists have made fortunes by playing media, do-gooders and generations of young people completely unaquainted with the facts of the murders, arrests, convictions and subsequent judge shopping by Peoples Law Office, MacArthur Center for Justice, Loevy & Loevy.

There has been absolutely no proof of torture - hundreds of allegations and millions of dollars in payouts -but not one win in G.Flint Taylor's column.

Jon Burge was trapped in a legal maze created by time, judge shopping, media complicity and collective memory loss.

When torture appears, deal with it. That has yet to be proven. Truth is not something "We Can All Agree Upon." That is John Dewey.

There is much to pray for, Sister. Good people are up to their elbows helping young people read, write, add and subtract and somehow know that other people want to help them without lining their own pockets.

Praising a hollow and popular gesture like this means nothing and actually keeps the problems on our streets more than healthy. By the way, schools need teachers. I have not seen a nun here at Leo High School, in the heart Chicago's killing fields, in years. Facta Non Verba.

N. B. - do read Gregory Koger one of Sister Benita's Coalition Guys.

Here is Sister Benita's coalition pal's coda-“What the bourgeoisie therefore produces, above all, are its own grave-diggers.”—Karl Marx

And his Mission Statement:
The world today cries out for radical, fundamental change. . .
But the cruelest fact of all is this: IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY! For here is the glaring contradiction: in today’s world the production of things, and the distribution of the things produced, is overwhelmingly carried out by large numbers of people who work collectively and are organized in highly coordinated networks. At the foundation of this whole process is the proletariat, an international class which owns nothing, yet has created and works these massive socialized productive forces. These tremendous productive powers could enable humanity to not only meet the basic needs of every person on the planet, but to build a new society, with a whole different set of social relations and values…a society where all people could truly and fully flourish together.

—Constitution of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA

Here are the City Council Coalitions, Speakers and Advocates:
Speakers at the press conference and hearing included: Congressman Danny Davis; Flint Taylor, attorney with the People’s Law Office who has been instrumental in seeking justice for the men tortured by Chicago police commander John Burge; Dr. Frank Summers, psychologist who lead the fight within the APA to bar psychologists from participating in interrogations and torture in Guantanamo; Cherif Bassiouni, United Nations war crimes expert; Melinda Power and Margaret Power, Illinois Coalition Against Torture; Mary Lynn Everson, Marjorie Kovler Center; Sr. Benita Coffey, representing the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT); Laurie Jo Reynolds, activist with Tamms Year Ten; Mario Venegas, Chilean survivor of torture under Pinochet; Mark Clements, Burge torture survivor; Mary L. Johnson, mother of a Burge torture victim and inmate at Tamms Correctional Center, as well as several other mothers of Burge torture survivors; and Wallace “Gator” Bradley, who spoke to the use of torture in the federal ADX supermax prison.

Time and Truth Will Out - Burge is Sentenced Harshly, But Flint Taylor Will Take the Fall.

I was thirty years old when the Wilson brothers assassinated Officers Fahey and O'Brien - it was in February, 1982 and took place two blocks from Leo High School. Only days before another Chicago Police Officer was murdered - Fahey and O'Brien were returning from Officer Doyle's funeral, I believe. I know Fahey's brothers. I am now 58 years old and former Commander Jon Burge has been sentenced well-above the Federal Maximum standard for perjury and obstruction of Justice by Judge Joan Lefkow,

Jon Burge was known as a 'stand-up' cop and Commander. I know officers who served with and for Jon Burge - none of them have been in any way implicated in the alleged torture of criminals.

I have followed this Gordian Knot of rhetoric, legal legerdemain, and orchestration of the Media, politicians and the public, as a teacher in Kankakee, Indiana and Chicago. The most vocal and vociferous "Get Burge" voices that I have encountered belong to people unborn at the time that Officers Fahey and O'Brien were assassinated and urinated upon by the brothers Wilson. Those voices ape the script prepared by G. Flint Taylor, legal bottom feeder and arch-manipulator of lazy and self-satisfied media people. G. Flint Taylor, it seems to me, has patiently albeit obnoxiously pulled all of the strings in this Gordian Knot - wrapped in the core is the truth.

I believe that in years to come, the truth will out, as it always must. Jon Burge stood up in court and took his sentence. Unlike the judge who went over and above the sentencing guidelines in order to placate a public gorged and sated by the endless rhetorical stuffings by G. Flint Taylor, I do not believe that Jon Burge engineered systemic torture of African Americans.

This I do know - two men were assassinated*, Jon Burge caught their killers and G. Flint Taylor made millions of dollars by undermining any and all confidence in Law.

Truth will out. G. Flint Taylor will overplay his hand and the court documents suppressed over the last three decades at Taylor's demand will surface. I also believe that the career criminals that he has enriched and made into media props will want more from Taylor and Taylor does not give. Ask Gator Bradley.

Time and truth.

End of Watch: Wednesday, February 10, 1982

Biographical Info
Age: 34
Tour of Duty: 12 years
Badge Number: 4194

Incident Details
Cause of Death: Gunfire
Date of Incident: Tuesday, February 9, 1982
Weapon Used: Handgun; .357 caliber
Suspect Info: Death Sentence. Commuted

Patrolmen William P. Fahey and Richard J. O'Brien were gunned down during a traffic stop.

Hours after attending the funeral of fellow officer James Doyle, Officers Fahey and O’Brien made a traffic stop. At 2:00 p.m., Fahey and O’Brien observed a late model Chevrolet go through a red light at 81st and Morgan Streets.

Patrolman Richard O’Brien, who was driving the squad car, approached the driver’s side of the car while Officer William Fahey approached the passenger side. Officer Fahey ordered the passenger out and patted him down for a weapon. As he was attempting to handcuff the passenger, the suspect gained control of Fahey’s .357 Magnum revolver, whirled around and fired at close range. The bullet struck William Fahey behind the left ear.

The assailant swung and fired a shot across the trunk of the car, firing two shots point-blank at Officer Richard O’Brien, striking him in the left arm and left hip. One of the men in the vehicle then disarmed O’Brien and the duo fled the scene

Help was first summoned to the scene when a voice was heard over the police radio system: “Emergency! Emergency! Two policemen have been shot at 81st and Morgan”. It was later learned to be the voice of a witness to the shooting who ran to the squad car and grabbed the microphone when he saw the officers fall.

Patrolman O’Brien died a short time after the shooting at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park. Patrolman William Fahey died the following morning at 11:14 a.m. without regaining consciousness.

Both officers were assigned to the Gang Crimes South Unit however, they were not regular partners. O’Brien’s regular partner was off sick, and Fahey’s was filling in on a desk job for a furloughed policeman.

Patrolman William P. Fahey was a 10-year veteran of the department. During his tenure, he received 19 honorable mentions and numerous letters of appreciation. He is survived by his wife and three children.

The funeral mass for Patrolman Fahey was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13th in Queen of the Universe Catholic Church at 7130 South Hamlin Avenue.

The killers were apprehended, convicted and sentenced to death. On January 10, 2003, the governor at the time, George Ryan commuted their sentences, along with those of all 164 other inmates on death row, to life in prison.

Lefkow Will Hammer Jon Burge: It is Preordained in the Media

Chicago Tribune

Jon Burge will receive a very heavy sentence from Judge Joan Lefkow in Federal Court this afternoon. It is preordained - Judge Lefkow refused to recuse herself* for having worked with the prosecutor. More importantly, the media determined years ago that Jon Burge was guilty and want to help G. Flint Taylor amass his millions more -in my humble opinion. This case will be squealed loudly in order to bring pressure on Gov. Quinn to sign the Death Penalty Abolition Bill. G. Flint Taylor intends to bring more suits on the back of Judge Lefkow's sentence and make millions more from tax-payers.

Did Burge torture? I really do not believe so. That matters not. I repost what I said this past summer. Make book on this - Burge will receive a heavy sentence and G. Flint Taylor will want much, much, much more. This is and always has been about money and not at all about Justice - for anyone. Most people who have decided that Jon Burge is guilty and condemned a priori are pretty good people. A few, like G. Flint Taylor are not worth the sweat of a fat man in a sauna.

From With Both Hands, Friday, June 18, 2010

I know the Fahey family, not real well, but I know Packey and Mike. Their brother Chicago Police Officer William Fahey along with Officer Richard O'Brien was tortured, murdered and their bodies were urinated upon by the Wilson Brothers.

I do not know, nor have I ever met Former Detective Commander Burge. I do know several Chicago Police Detectives who worked under Jon Burge, in Area 2. They universally admire Burge for courage and leadership 'from the front' and say he was a great boss.

All I know about Jon Burge's nemesis G. Flint Taylor is what I have read in the news and other media publications and witnessed on television or heard over the radio. My impression of G. Flint Taylor of the Peoples Law Office is wildly unfavorable. Not a big deal.

The media love G. Flint Taylor because he is edgy and wraps his dubious agenda in rhetorical flourishes that would make Atticus Finch seem like the leader of a lynch mob.

There should be indictments and prosecutions of Burge and his men for obstruction of justice, perjury and conspiracy,” said Flint Taylor, Orange’s attorney. He called for hearings for the 25-30 black men imprisoned after allegedly being tortured into confessions of crimes they didn’t commit. . . .Meanwhile, Orange’s lawyer failed to produce a properly drafted document giving him power of attorney to settle, Georges said. . . . an attorney for one of the plaintiffs had not been able to produce a power of attorney executed by his client, a form that would demonstrate he had the authority to settle the case.
Chicago Sun Times

G. Flint Taylor it seems to me is a Marxist millionaire lawyer with the bulliest of pulpits - American Progressive High Ground. He is a nasty piece of work, it seems to me, because he has been at the plate with his Burge bats for decades and never hit one even remotely within the foul line. G. Flint Taylor's most telling moment occurred when career criminal and current Federal inmate Aaron Paterson's day in court went south on the thug. G. Flint Taylor and Urban Translator Gator Bradley as well as another attorney all but came to blows over the money that was settled out of court - yet, Aaron by dint of his thuggish instincts returned to prison.

Three of the alleged victims have remained free, but Patterson is serving a 30-year prison term on gun and drug charges.

In one of the strange twists in Patterson's civil case, a judge allowed Wallace "Gator" Bradley, a former gang enforcer, to sit in court with Patterson's attorney as an "urban translator" to control the volatile defendant. Now Bradley says Patterson's attorney, Frank Avila, owes him $250,000 for his work. Avila and Flint Taylor, Patterson's former lawyer, are fighting over their share of the legal fees.

Chicago Sun Times

G. Flint not only demands the spilled nickels on the courtroom floors, but also demands that the American Justice system be deconstructed. Any and all confidence in Law Enforcement and the Institutions of Justice must be undermined - in that way, G. Flint Taylor can continue to milk the Systemic Racist Police Torture Cow.

Every time, and he will again, Taylor fails make charges stick to Jon Burge and other police officers, he howls like a pig with a hair lip.

A panel of judges must study Burge and his Midnight Crew!!!!!

They did and produced a finding that cost millions of dollars and did not come up with Taylor's script.

Howls!!!! They are related to cops!!! It is more racism and cover-up!

Flint demands and the corporate media choruses along with Flint "The Federal Prosecutor MUST Charge Burge with Perjury!:

They did.

Flint Howls!!!!!!!!!!!"I want Burge on the witness stand!" . . .I have a feeling that Burge will go back to Florida -John Conroy's editorialized reports for NPR notwithstanding. Many, many, many very good people believe G.Flint Taylor. I do not. I am around police officers very often and I am also around people in the news media very often. Some cops are thugs and most are not. Some journalists are lazy, scripted hacks, most reporters are not that at all.

The Burge Saga has been an orchestrated effort to create the facts -pure Hegelian/Dewey method. Facts are troubling things. What is ignored by the media is the fact that much of testimony in past trials concerning police torture were ruled as inadmissable. The 'black box' is an urban legend. I first read about the black box years ago, when Bernardine Dohrn strapped on her job at Northwestern. Sasha Abramsky echoed the tale and John Conroy then with Chicago Reader hammered it home.

G. Flint Taylor even had a re-production of the torture instrument brought into a courtroom.

A boy scout who later said that he had seen the device -melted into La Salle County Illinois and a series of arrests in Ottawa. UBI Sunt?

The City of Chicago, like other towns and municipalities walked right into G. Flint Taylor's agenda - they tried to toss money at a glutton.

Now, with witnesses against Burge self-impeaching and the high-minded suspender snapping oratory melted, Jon Burge is answering questions with piss and vinegar.

When and if Burge is acquitted and I believe that he will be. G.Flint Taylor and his orchestra will play more loudly. This is not about justice -this is all about money for G. Flint Taylor and his industry. But right now, things are not looking too good and it is torturing G. Flint Taylor.

G. Flint Taylor knows all about torture - he is a past master.

*re·cuse/riˈkyo͞oz/
Verb: Challenge (a judge, prosecutor, or juror) as unqualified to perform legal duties because of a possible conflict of interest or lack of impartiality: "a motion to recuse the prosecutor:

A federal judge set to sentence former Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge next week refused to withdraw from the case Wednesday after the defense raised a potential conflict of interest.

Burge's attorneys asked that U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow remove herself because an assistant U.S. attorney on the case had helped prosecute white supremacist Matthew Hale on charges of plotting to kill Lefkow. Lefkow called the request not timely this late in the prosecution and said she couldn't recall meeting with the prosecutor during preparation for the Hale trial.

The prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney David Weisman, said in court that he recalled meeting with Lefkow once during the Hale trial. Later, Lefkow smiled and apologized to Weisman for not remembering meeting him then.

G. Flint Taylor 17 At-Bats Against Jon Burge, No Runs, No Hits, 17 Errors

Jon Burge was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice by Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.

That, to my knowledge, is only time that Jon Burge was convicted of anything and that trial, in my opinion, was scripted over the last thirty years by G. Flint Taylor.

With Full orchestra and chorus of Chicago's Academics, Cadillac Commie lawyers, political race hustlers like Ed Smith and Danny 'Any Lane' Davis, 501(c) 3 radical leftist and our very lazy and complacent Chicago Editorial Boards and columnists, playing flat-out and G. Flint Taylor needed the Feds and full and sober majesty of Justice Department squeezing every person within twenty zip-codes near Jon Burge ever. G. Flint Taylor did not even use the T-Ball Gizmo in his quiver -settling out of court, because in-court he whiffs up a storm.

The city has paid $10.1 million in outside counsel fees for Mr. Burge’s legal defense in civil cases. Mr. Burge’s accusers and their advocates are questioning why the city is continuing to pick up the costly tab for his defense after he was found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice on June 28. Mr. Burge, 62, has been a defendant in 17 civil rights lawsuits filed in federal court.

17 at-bats for G. Flint. Not one hit. Fitzy pinch-hit and sailed one over the ivy.

G. Flint Taylor is a making millions of dollars. He sends convicted murdering thugs wanting to get on the Lawsuit Lotto bus to other attorneys demanding that the lawyers forego fees -Pron Bono Work-while G. Flint Taylor pockets large.

Goofs like Ald. Ed Smith are now on the Burge bus as well.

I would love to see one (1) Chicago journalist connect a few of the dots in the G. Flint Taylor Great Chain of Being All About Burge. I would love to see one (1) article. I would love to see Le Bron James decide to give up basketball and go Law School.

The Burge Trial: Guilty of Perjury and Obstruction of Justice

Jon Burge was convicted of Perjury and Obstruction of Justice. This pound of flesh will be but an hors d'oeuvre in the banquet prepared and seasoned by G. Flint Taylor.

You can be sure that there is much more to come - millions in fees to G. Flint Taylor and other legal buzzards.

We are elated that finally 25 years after this evidence first came to light, there is some modicum of justice," said Flint Taylor, an attorney for torture victims, outside the courtroom. "But as all of us know, this is only one phase in a long struggle that shall continue."
He said the next phase is finding those who allegedly abused suspects and trying them in a court of law.

Taylor one one. Everyone else?

The jury did its civic duty.

The Burge Trial - The Jury Will Not End Burge Industries: Lawyers, Louts and Loudmouths

Very good people are appalled by the idea of torture. The idea of torture in Chicago by homicide detectives committed to systemtic racism has been carefully crafted and marketed over the last thirty years.

Academics, Activists and Advocacy Agendanistas have parlayed the idea of torture into a mythology that permeates what passes for Chicago's corporate news media.

Carol Marin and other iconic columnists have not tucked their snouts into the story of Area 2, but have relied completely on the work of John Conroy and the propaganda machine of G. Flint Taylor. Code of Silence, Black Box, House of Screams, Vietnam 101 Torture are part of the Burge Industries glossary developed by Sasha Abramsky, Bernardine Dohrn, G. Flint Taylor, Northwestern Law, and especially John Conroy, who can not seem to be given the contract by the corporate media that laps up his every nuanced participle. Why is he not the editor of some great metropolitan newspaper? They all redact his texts and themes.

Twelve citizens will decide for or against Jon Burge, who has been fabricated into the face of torture, by G. Flint Taylor, The MacArthur Center for Justice, Jon Loevy, Locke Bowman, Jean McLean Snyder, Berardine Dohrn, WTTW, WBEZ, NPR, and the lazy and compliant editorial boards.

I have followed this story as a citizen and as an educator who spends seven days a week in Area 2 - I live here and live with the fall-out that has evolved as the result of the erosion in faith for Law Enforcement at the hands of lawyers, louts and loudmouths. A rainforest of crime has rooted up in Chicago- not in Wicker Park, Bucktown, Lakeview, Highland Park, Winnteka, or Wilmette, but in Gresham, Englewood, Brainerd, Morgan Park, Beverly and Roseland.

I have witnessed the savagery of street thuggery and attended the funerals of too many sweet and hard working young black men slaughtered in the Thug Comfort Zone created by Burge Industries - Eric Ersery, Jason Riley, Steven Lyons,Eric and Steve Lee to name but a few. I have witnessed the police officers and detectives of Gresham District (6th) and Area 2.

I don't buy the systemic racist torture at all. Am I intellectually dishonest? I don't think so. I have followed this story very religiously since Officers Fahey and O'Brien were tortured and murdered. I know that I have found the endless chorus of charges and the endless failures to make the case for torture a compelling case for doubt. What happened? I do not know, but I do not buy for one second the charges howled by G. Flint Taylor and the murdering savages that he represents. I suspect that G. Flint Taylor and others in his cottage industry including Chicago's news media want the Burge Saga to continue.

The perjury case against Jon Burge,it seems to me, was merely another legal sop paid to G.Flint Taylor. The City of Chicago and Cook County tried tossing millions of dollars at this public pest. They would have done well to stand in court and demanded a battle royal against the charges. They did not.

The jury will decide one way or the other, but do not think for a minute that Burge Industries will be satisfied. If Jon Burge is convicted or acquitted, G. Flint Taylor and his disciples will howl for more, more, more court time and greater fees. Taylor is smelling an acquittal of Jon Burge and has already ginned up his next moves:

Whatever the outcome of the Jon Burge perjury and obstruction of justice trial, the legal battles that have swirled around him for more than 20 years, and that have cost the city millions of dollars, will drag on.

Not only legal battles, but political battles,” said Flint Taylor, who represents several men who accused Mr. Burge and others of torturing them while at Area 2 violent-crimes unit of the police department on the Far South Side in the 1970s and ’80s. “This is just one phase in the long struggle against police torture.”

Even Huffington Post has gone dark on the Burge Trial.

The only real, genuine and consistant voice calling out the media for this sense of fait accompli in the Burge Trial has been Steve Rhodes of Beachwood Reporter and we agree not a bit in this matter. Rhodes even seemed to shame the Chicago Reader, once the home of John Conroy into some sense of coverage. Rhodes is honest and sincere in his antipathy to Jon Burge, unlike the moral whack-a-mole opportunists Carol Marin, or Eric Zorn.

John Conroy will be kept busy and his story line will continue as Carol Marin and others play the Polyanna do-gooders.

More kids will be slaughtered. If it bleeds it leads.

The scent of easy money, like the taste for blood can not be sated.

Burge Trial - Like "The Black Box" Frank Sirtoff Seems to Have Vanished, sort of

Everyone, we are told repeatedly, must accept that Jon Burge tortured hundreds of black men between the 1980's and 1990's.

However, wheels keep falling off this bandwagon - hundreds of black men, came down to five two weeks ago when the prosecution in the perjury trial of Jon Burge took flight and the black box electrical torture has yet to appear in anything but rumor and hearsay.

For quite a while, especially during the Cook County Special Attorney's Report development and publication, readers were treated to an eye-witness account by a then Boy Scout in Bluhm Center Literature and Counterpunch articles by Eric Ruder of the Socialist Worker.Frank Sirtoff told of witnessing the torture of black men by Burge with the fabled 'Black Box."

Where is this 'Witness for the Prosecution?"

Like the 'black box' Frank Sirtoff no longer seems relevant to the people who demand that we all must accept that Jon Burge tortured hundreds.

Frank Sirtoff then,

ABC7 Exclusive: Former Boy Scouts claim to have witnessed torture

Two former Boy Scouts say they witnessed the torture of a suspect and they believe former commander Jon Burge was involved.

There was a 1980′s film called “Stand By Me” about kids who stumbled onto a crime scene and it changed their lives forever. Not only are the following memories remindful of that film, they are also the first independent, corroborated witness accounts of possible torture inside a Chicago police station.

“I’ve tried to put it in the back of my mind most of the time and tried to live my life as good as I could. But after seeing something like that, it’s a life-changing experience,” said Frank Sirtoff, alleged torture witness.

Forty-five-year-old Frank Sirtoff says he will never forget what he saw during the summer of 1975 when he was a 14-year-old boy scout living on Chicago’s Southwest Side. Sirtoff says he and a cousin, who was also a scout, entered the Area 3 police headquarters — then at 39th and California — to visit their scout leader who was a detective in the youth division on the third floor.

“We made it a habit of going there quite often, at least once a week,” said Sirtoff.

But that day, the boys went exploring on the second floor. Sirtoff says he remembers opening a door and seeing a black man in distress sitting at a long desk.

“And this man was sitting in the wooden chair, strapped down with handcuffs on his arms, his legs,” Sirtoff said. “The leg of the chair and wires all over his body, wires on his arms, his hands, his forehead, by the temples of his head … and on top of the desk was a black box with a crank handle and all of the wires going into the box.”

Frank’s cousin wished to remain anonymous as he talked about also seeing the black man, the box and the wires and a large, red-haired detective.

“He had red hair, mustache, big guy. He said, ‘shut that n—-r up and get these f—–g kids out of here,’ ” said Frank’s cousin, who was 13 at the time.

Sirtoff says, after seeing news reports during the past 30 years, there is no doubt in his mind the red-haired man was Jon Burge, the now retired police commander under investigation for the torture of nearly 200 black men.

“I look at Burge, and Burge looks at me right in the eye, and says, ‘kill the n—–r and get the kid,’ ” Sirtoff said.

Police department records say that in 1975 Burge was not assigned to Area 3. That year he was a sergeant working as a detective in the intelligence division and for the Fourth District on the South Side.

Sirtoff’s scout leader, Martin W. Conroy, who retired as a detective in 1995, says he remembers Sirtoff and the other boy “frequently visited at the youth division”. By telephone from his home in Texas, Conroy said, “I believe them. Why would they make it up?”

On Burge being at 39th and California that day, Conroy said, “If outside detectives made an arrest in Area 3, they might come there for an interrogation or to take part in it.”

Attorney Flint Taylor has represented alleged victims in 10 torture-related lawsuits.

“It’s been documented that in the ’70′s there were cases where people would be picked up in another area of the city, for Burge, that Burge would either go to him or he’d be brought to Burge,” said Flint Taylor, People’s Law Center.

Sirtoff says, after the confrontation with the red-haired detective, he and his cousin ran to Conroy’s office on the third floor where they were ordered out of the building. It wasn’t until many years later, after seeing news reports on alleged police torture, that he began suffering guilt for not telling someone about what he had seen.

“I want to be able to say to myself and think to myself that I didn’t die taking this to the grave with me, and that guy that was sitting in the chair, he knows that I finally told somebody about it,” said Sirtoff.

Sirtoff says in 1994 he told the FBI in northwest Indiana about what he saw. He says he did not tell the FBI in Chicago fearing it might be as corrupt as police. The FBI will neither confirm nor deny that such an interview took place.

Sirtoff left voice mail messages at the People’s Law Center in Chicago three years ago. He told the same story on the tapes — that still exist — but he did not leave his name or a number where he could be reached.

Neither Sirtoff nor his cousin talked to the special prosecutor who has been conducting the official investigation.

Frank Sirtoff III, 49, of Ottawa was charged with domestic battery, aggravated assault and fleeing and eluding following an incident in which Spring Valley, Ladd and Peru police officers pursued the suspect's vehicle after he allegedly struck a car in the parking lot of the BP Amoco station and left the scene at 4:11 p.m. March 25. Officers were pursuing Sirtoff's vehicle north on Route 89 at high speeds when it went off the roadway on the ramp to Interstate 80 and became stuck in the mud. Sirtoff allegedly struck a 47-year-old female passenger in the face during the pursuit. She was taken to St. Margaret's hospital by 10-33 Ambulance Service as a result of the injury from the domestic battery. A 15-year-old male passenger in the car was

Loevy v. Law Enforcement - Gold Mine of Settlements!

"There are 13,000 officers in the Chicago Police Department, and the proportion who violate rights in proportion to those who generate a lawsuit is very small," said Jon Loevy, founding attorney at civil rights law firm Loevy and Loevy. "Getting sued, particularly more than once, is really crossing the line in a way that could put the city on notice that extra scrutiny is merited.

Yes indeed, "Getting sued, particularly more than once, is really crossing the line in a way that could put the city on notice that extra scrutiny is merited." That said, Doing the suits, particularly more than once, is really crossing the line in a way that should put the city, the tax-payers and news media on notice that extra scrutiny is merited.

Jon Loevy started suing police Departments when he quit Sildey and Austin and after clerking for Judge Milton Shadur. I believe that he started in Oak Lawn, Illinois when the Village settled out of court and the rest is litigation history.

Last week, three Chicago police Detectives were ordered to pay Loevy out of their own pockets. That was stunning.

Donny McGee’s award is to include $330,000 from the officers’ personal funds, according to Loevy & Loevy Attorneys at Law.

McGee, who spent three years in prison, was to face the death penalty in the murder of Ethel Perstlen, 76.

Detective Edward Farley, Detective Robert Lenihan and Officer Robert Bartik fabricated a confession from McGee that was not written, audiotaped or videotaped, the lawyers added.

How did lawyer Jon Loevy happen on to the gold mine that it is Loevy & Loevy?

I am just a high school teacher who reads the papers.

It seems to me that Jon Loevy is just about the only really aggressive Police suing lawyer in the business. Marxist Millionaire G. Flint Taylor is a whole other hairball - he has Burge Industries. But Jon Loevy seems to be the Bill Gates of Police Lawsuits. He files suit and cities settle - no muss and no fuss.

I think Jon Loevy does it for money - period. G. Flint Taylor? Whole other hairball. He does it for money and ideology. Jon Loevy? Money. Tons of money. Always taxpayer money - except now he can root nickels out of the modest savings of police officers as well. A new Tsunami.

I became a teacher because I like to read and share my love reading and writing - what a guy. I am also a real trainwreck around tools. My family are all skilled tradesmen.

Jon Loevy followed his Dad into the law and his Dad followed his son into Lawsuits Against the Cops,

Arthur Loevy was groomed some say to be a Labor Lawyer. He was that. He was huge.

Loevy and Loevy, pater et filius, sue police everywhere*. It will be interesting to look into just why. Money, to be sure, but just how Jon Loevy got to the gold.

Well, there's Dad -Arthur Loevy

Arthur Loevy graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1963, and has been a member of the Illinois bar continuously for more than forty years.
Arthur Loevy began his legal career practicing labor law until 1970 when he became an elected officer of a trade union, the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union ("ACTWU"). Arthur proceeded to serve in various elected capacities for trade unions, including International Executive Vice President of ACTWU, International Secretary-Treasurer of ACTWU, and, most recently International Secretary-Treasurer of the Union of Needle-Trades Industrial and Textile Employees (U.N.I.T.E.).
Arthur Loevy has also served as a Director and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Amalgamated Bank of New York (1990-98), the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Trustee of various Taft-Hartley insurance and trust funds for almost twenty years, the President of the Amalgamated Housing Foundation (1974-98), and the President of the Sidney Hillman Health Center in Chicago (1980-98).
Since January 1, 1997, Arthur Loevy has resumed the practice of law on a full-time basis. In 1998, he joined the law firm started by his son, Jon Loevy, and has practiced here ever since.

Unlike Lad Jon Loevy -
Jon Loevy is an extremely accomplished trial lawyer, having won more than $100 million in jury verdicts for his clients, all in cases involving challenging fact patterns and difficult to prove allegations against the government. Loevy has won 18 out of his last 20 jury trials, and his $100 million total in career jury awards includes twelve separate jury verdicts of $1 million or more. For more, click here: Recent Successes - Trials.
Loevy is also a highly successful appellate lawyer. Civil rights cases are notoriously hard to win, but Loevy was won 13 out of the last 16 he has argued before the federal appellate courts (including wins in the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Circuits), the majority of which were on behalf of the appellant seeking to overturn an adverse ruling. For more, click here: Recent Successes - Appeals.
Jon Loevy's $28 million jury verdict in Regalado v. Chicago in 1999 is still the largest civil rights verdict in the City's history. Since that time, he has received million dollar-plus jury verdicts as lead counsel in eleven other "long shot" cases, including Duran v. Chicago in 2008 ($4.2 million for interference with child custody); Johnson v. Guevara in 2009 ($21 million for 11 years of wrongful conviction); Borsellino v. Putnam in 2009 ($11 million for fraud by the former president of the NYSE); Newman v. Squire in 2010 ($6 million for wrongful death); Coffie v. Chicago in 2007 ($4 million for police brutality); Dominguez v. Waukegan in 2006 ($9 million for 4 years of wrongful conviction); Manning v. United States FBI in 2005 ($6.6 million for wrongful conviction); Ware v. Chicago in 2007 ($5 million for fatal police shooting); Garcia v. Chicago in 2003 ($1 million); and Russell v. Chicago in 2003 ($1.5 million for fatal police shooting); and Waits v. Chicago in 2002 ($1.5 million for police brutality).
After one victory, the Honorable James F. Holderman, Chief Judge of the Northern District of Illinois summarized Loevy's trial skills in a written decision reported at Garcia v. Chicago, 2003 WL 22175620 (N.D.Ill. 2003):
Jon Loevy is an outstanding trial lawyer. His ability belies his years of experience, and he certainly should not be held in a lock-step position based on his law school graduation year with regard to his hourly rate. . . Not only did Jon Loevy display tremendous advocacy skills during the trial before the jury, he handled all the matters involved in this litigation with great aplomb. His case was well-organized. The evidentiary progression was easy to follow. His examinations of adverse witnesses [1], and his dealing with the sometimes improper tactics of his opposing counsel, were highly professional.
Jon Loevy's poise, analysis, and demeanor in front of the jury, as well as his rapier-like cross-examination style, are reminiscent of the trial skills displayed by some of the nationally recognized trial lawyers in this community when they were the age that Jon Loevy is now. [1] Among those nationally recognized trial lawyers whose trial skills the court is familiar with when they were Jon Loevy's age are: Royal B. Martin of Martin, Brown and Sullivan; Michael D. Monico of Monico, Spevack and Pavich; Thomas R. Mulroy of McGuire Woods; Anton J. Valukas of Jenner & Block; and Dan K. Webb of Winston & Strawn. Additionally, Jon Loevy's overall performance ranks among the finest displays of courtroom work by a plaintiff's lead trial counsel that this court has presided over in several years.
For more on Jon Loevy's trial practice, click here.
In addition to the $100 million in jury verdicts, Loevy has also obtained tens of millions more for his clients in settlements.
Loevy graduated from Columbia Law School in 1993, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. At Columbia, he was a Kent Scholar (approximately top 1% of the academic class), as well the recipient of the Young B. Smith Prize given to the student with the top examination in torts, and the Paul R. Hayes Prize given to the student with the top exam in civil procedure.
Upon graduating, Loevy clerked for Judge Milton I. Shadur of the Northern District of Illinois for a year, after which he took a year off and travelled around the world. Upon returning home, he joined the firm then-known as Sidley & Austin, where he spent a year and a half before leaving to start his own firm, first as a solo practitioner, and then in partnership with his wife, Danielle Loevy.
The firm he formed, Loevy & Loevy, has since grown to 14 lawyers, and is now one of the largest firms devoted to civil rights in Chicago, if not the entire country.
Loevy is also a lecturer at law at the University of Chicago, where he co-teaches a clinic on wrongful conviction litigation with other members of his firm. Loevy also teaches Trial Advocacy to clinic students at the University of Chicago.
Loevy was previously named one of the Law Bulletin's prestigious "40 under 40" attorneys to watch in Chicago, as well as one of Chicago Lawyer's "Next Generation Rising Stars of the Trial Bar." Loevy was also invited to speak at the National Lawyers' Guild's (NLG) National Police Accountability Project Conference in Austin, Texas in the Fall of 2006 on the topic of "How to Win Big Jury Awards in Police Abuse Cases." He presented on that topic to more than 50 police abuse lawyers from around the United States. In 2007, Loevy was asked to be the moderator for the NLG's National Police Accountability Project conference in Washington D.C.
Loevy lives in Chicago with his wife, Danielle, and three sons, Carter, Ethan and Oliver.
Located in the West Loop just west of downtown, our Chicago-based law firm represents clients throughout the nation, including the Chicagoland metropolitan area, including Cicero, Harvey, Kankakee, Joliet, Chicago Heights, Dolton, Markham, Aurora, Rockford, Waukegan, Champaign-Urbana, Elgin, Cook County, Will County, Lake County, DuPage County, and Kane County.

(emphasis my own)

Police Officers in Chicago do not come to the Law from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Northwestern. They come from Gresham, Jefferson Park, Ukrainian Village, Mount Greenwood, Hegewisch, Englewood and other working class neighborhoods. They used to come from families of police officers, as Jon Loevy followed Dad in the practice of Law. They are working men. It seems to me that the Loevy family has no problem targeting working men and doing whatever it takes to make money and they are very good at it.

Here's but a very few.

At Loevy & Loevy, we are trial lawyers who seek justice for those whose civil rights have been violated and for whistleblowers. Based in Chicago, we are one of the nation's largest and most successful civil rights law firms and we handle cases around the nation. We go to trial often and our record speaks for itself: $21 million for a wrongfully convicted man, $16 million for another, victory in a class action of more than 100,000 people, $28 million for the victim of a police beating, and many more. We've won dozens of jury trials and more than $150 million for our clients.

ROY, Mich., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- A class action lawsuit alleging that the Detroit Police Department (DPD) systematically abused and mistreated arrestees was filed on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in the United States Federal Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. A copy of the complaint is available at www.fhwnlaw.com.
The suit, Jonathan Brown, et al v. City of Detroit, was filed by the Chicago law firm of Loevy & Loevy and the Troy, Michigan law firm of Frank, Haron, Weiner & Navarro. The suit alleges that thousands of individuals were arrested and denied basic constitutional rights by the DPD from May 27, 2007 through the present date. A similar class action lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department recently settled for $16.5 million.
Specifically, the complaint alleges that the DPD engaged in a repeated pattern of detaining individuals for long periods of time – often in excess of 48 hours – without allowing them access to a judge. These individuals were denied food, water, and sleep during their detentions. The complaint charges that these inhumane conditions were often used to obtain false confessions from suspects, while genuine perpetrators were left free to continue committing crimes.
The suit has three classes of plaintiffs. Class one is comprised of thousands of people who were detained by the DPD overnight or for more than 16 hours in a 24-hour period and who were deprived of basic human needs for rest and hygiene. Plaintiffs in the second class were arrested by the DPD and detained in excess of 48 hours without a judicial determination of probable cause. The third group of plaintiffs consists of individuals detained by the DPD in excess of 24 hours without being provided at least two meals.

CROWN POINT | Lake County Jail officials and plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit alleging medical and other mistreatment in the jail failed for the second time Wednesday to reach a settlement in the two-year-old case.
Loevy & Loevy, the Chicago law firm representing the plaintiffs, is seeking the court's approval of a class action lawsuit in which the complaints mirror many of the findings by the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.
The government's report, released in December, disclosed conditions the DOJ found to be in violation of inmates' constitutional rights. Jail officials released their response to the findings in May along with a plan to meet the concerns.
The federal lawsuit was filed in May 2008, prior to the DOJ investigation, which was launched in September. Since the lawsuit was filed, Loevy & Loevy attorneys have said the number of jail detainees with similar complaints has grown to more than 100 from the original seven.
The nearly daylong settlement conference Wednesday, the second since February, failed to resolve the lawsuit.
As is typical, the settlement conference was not held in public.

Burge Trial - Gangbanger Remembers Tyburn Jack Ketch as Part of Midnight Crew

The hearsay parade of witnesses pointing the finger at Jon Burge - the long-ago media Popular Front convicted Chicago Police Detective continues:

Gangster Disciple Henry Fauntleroy ( deceased) returned from the grave and offered this compelling narrative, "I remember this Irish #$%%^#$ came in an tortured and put me to death so I confessed."

Compelling.

I heard that The Midnight Crew made runs to Col. Chicken, Mickey D's, and Popeyes and never once offered the Denzel Washington look-a-likes even a taste. Chilling.

John (Jack) Ketch (died 1686) was an English executioner employed by King Charles II. An immigrant of Irish extraction, he became famous through the way he performed his duties during the tumults of the 1680s, when he was often mentioned in broadsheet accounts that circulated throughout the Kingdom of England. He is thought to have been appointed in 1663. He executed the death sentences against William Russell, Lord Russell in Lincoln's Inn Fields on July 21, 1683, and James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth on July 15, 1685, after the Monmouth Rebellion. He was either very awkward or sadistic with his beheading technique, and his victims were known to have suffered at their deaths.[citation needed]
Ketch's execution of Lord Russell on July 21, 1683, was performed clumsily, and a pamphlet is extant which contains his Apologie, in which he alleges that the prisoner did not "dispose himself as was most suitable" and that he was interrupted while taking aim. On the scaffold (see gallows) on July 15, 1685, the Duke of Monmouth, addressing Ketch, referred to his treatment of Lord Russell, the result being that Ketch was quite unmanned. He had to deal at least five strokes with his axe (which he threw down, shouting "I cannot do this thing!") and finally use a knife to sever Monmouth's head from his shoulders.[citation needed] In 1686, Ketch was deposed and imprisoned at Bridewell. His successor, Paskah Rose, a butcher, was hanged at Tyburn after four months in his office.[citation needed] Ketch was reappointed in his place. He died towards the close of 1686.[citation needed]
As a result, the term Jack Ketch is also used:
as the name of every hangman after Ketch, to hide their identity;
as a proverbial name for death or, sometimes, Satan;
as a euphemism for the gallows;
as the name of the hangman in the traditional version of Punch and Judy.
The knot more commonly known as a hangman's knot is also sometimes known as Jack Ketch's knot.
As a figure of death in folklore "Jack Ketch" is also known as "Hanging Jack" and "Mister Graball".

Kill Jon Burge and While You are At it Wipe Out Israel - It's a Progressive Thing

What I find very telling is the fact that the very people who want former Area 2 Homicide Detective Jon Burge tortured, murdered and then convicted are the very same people who want Israel wiped from the face of the earth.

The doctrinaire Progressive can not accept the fact that Israel is fighting for its life by blocking, apprehending and questioning murderous thugs and that Detectives of Area 2 were tasked with apprehending and questioning murderous thugs.

The corporate media ( editorial boards and the iconic columnists like Carol Marin) take only one news feed and that is the Progressive Doctrinaire - G. Flint Taylor tells out-of-work columnist John Conroy what to write and that sets the police torture gold standard. Burge must be mutilated, tried and convicted for starters because The Peoples Law Office, Jon Loevy, The Northwestern Buzz Cut Commie Lawsuit Lotto League, WTTW, WBEZ* and Medill Magic Conviction Deconstruction Company say so. Burge tortured Denzel Washington! Free Mumia!

Likewise, the hand-wringers want Israel wiped from the face of the earth, because it is there.

Good people can disagree. The Progressive tells everyone to shut-up and obey. People don't, thank God.

Burge Trial - The Progressive Voice Explains Justice

Say it often enough and they will swallow anything.
Fair is fair and Justice is blind unless driven by the Progressive Agenda to undermine any and all confidence and faith in law enforcement and the American Justice System.

From the Tribune commentary - a G. Flint Taylor's acolyte intones:

None of the Detectives should be granted any form of immunity unless they are willing to reveal information that will be helpful toward bringing down the entire operation of Jon Burge and his detectives who work under his command. . . . .

This is the Progressive voice.

Burge Trial - Tribune Reporter Matthew Walberg Gets The Whole Story -Little Things Mean a Lot

Less my Third makes you a rich man Holmes.

I know that Officers Fahey and O'Brien were tortured and murdered. I know that their murderers were caught and convicted.

Other stuff? Well for decades I have been reading about Millionaire Marxist Lawyer G. Flint Taylor's easy manipulation of the Chicago Media. Since the murders of Fahey and O'Brien serious journalists ( Bill Granger, Ray Coffey, Dennis Byrne, John McHugh, Nick Von Hoffman, Richard Lindberg, Jack Mabley & etc.) who wrote columns died or retired or were forced out by agenda dedicated editors. The new generation of columnists and editorialists are dedicated to the same principles as G. Flint Taylor - make accusations often and loud enough and future generations of less-than-careful readers will swallow anything. That is how Justice Politics is made. Politicians will play ball so long as some level of public opinion seems convenient.

However.

G. Flint Taylor has been to the plate more often than Michael Moore at Olde Country Buffet after Lent and has come up empty.

Facts are troubling things.

Torture? Beats me.

Today the Chicago Tribune Reporter covering the Burge Trial presented a fair and cold presnetation of the trial.

RUMMANA HUSSAIN of the Chicago Sun Times gilded G. Flint's Lillies. The Sun Times should have sent Natasha Korecki.

Here is some of what happened in the Tribune report. Well done, Matthew Walberg!

Suffredin admitted that even though he had just learned of the alleged abuse, he never checked with the medical staff at Cook County Jail to determine whether there was any record of injuries to Holmes when he came into the jail. And he said he and his trial partner never tried to have the confession thrown out on grounds that it was coerced because they believed that the statement was uncorroborated by other evidence and that the law would require the judge to acquit their client.

"You and your partner chose to skip a step with (the judge) to get the statement -- the only evidence against your client -- thrown out?" Beuke asked.

"That's correct," Suffredin said.

Beuke also questioned Suffredin about a key detail of Holmes alleged torture -- that he was suffocated with a small, plastic trash bag.

"Would it surprise you to learn that they (plastic trash bags) weren't introduced to the market until 1977?" he asked.

"I wouldn't know," Suffredin said.

So Mister Holmes was smothered in 1973, by a product not invented until 1977 . . . now that is torturing . . .the Truth and Justice.

Click my post title for the whole unvarnished story.

Here is RUMMANA HUSSAIN work for G. Flint Taylor.

Sun Times NewsPro Natasha Korecki Covers Burge Trial as it Should - Facts, Nothing But the Facts

The Chicago Sun Times has the best reporters and worst columnists in Chicago.

Mark Konkol, Tim Novak, Chris Fusco and sometimes Abdon Pallasch are strong and honest. My favorite read is Natasha Korecki she slides a sentence with the grace of sportswriter Dan McGrath and avoids the posing and posturing of the would be Menckens and Divas.

Paddy Fitz the Fed needs Media Points after his Blago Blunders and here he is playing to his orchestra. The Burge Trial will be a Circus and the Feds will play to the folks who only read what Carol Marin, Mark Brown, Mary Mitchell, and the Sun Times' weak-ass editorial board writes. The Sun Times has talent like Ms. Korecki who will report and not fabricate. BTW- The Sun Times Editorial Board is 10X better than the Chicago Tribune's.

Jon Burge has been convicted by the media and the media never checks its own sources - they are in agreement with all the nonsense that the Burge Industry ( Peoples Law Office, Mr. & Mrs. Ayres-Dohrn, Northwestern Law, CPUSA) have provided the lazy and the wildly ambitious columnists.

Thank you Natasha Korecki! This is a good read and a fine report.

Dressed in a black suit, tie, and blue shirt, former Chicago Police Cmdr. Jon Burge on Thursday spun around in his chair and seemed to struggle a bit as he stood up.

"Morning, ladies and gentlemen," said the man who for decades has been accused of torturing murder suspects.

( Brian Jackson/Sun-Times)

Burge was briefly inside a courtroom addressing the potential jurors who will judge his fate in his trial that starts later this month on obstruction of justice and perjury charges. A pool of jurors were summoned today to fill out a questionnaire but jury selection in the case doesn't begin until May 24. After court, a slow-moving Burge, who lives in Tampa, Fla., said he felt "terrible," physically and that it was "not unusual," to be back in Chicago.

Nearly 80 potential jurors were handed questionnaires in preparation for the upcoming selection.

U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow told the ethnically and racially diverse panel not to read or listen to any media coverage of the case.

While Burge and his underlings have long been accused of torturing suspects into giving confessions, he is not on trial for those actual acts. Burge is accused of lying on a sworn questionnaire that probed him of the alleged practices.

Burge Trial - "Call Bernardine Dohrn to the Witness Stand!"

Jon Burge grew up in the working class Irish communities of southern Chicago. A red-head with a pugilist's frame, he served as a military policeman during the Vietnam War. That's likely where he first came into contact with tools of the trade such as the electric shock-producing "Tucker Telephone," as well as psychological torture methods such as meticulously staged mock executions.
Sasha Abramsky -Mother Jones

Sasha Abramsky, as I recall, was introduced to the electric-testicle torture theory from Bernardine Dohrn based on fact that Jon Burge -
1. was in Vietnam
2. a telephone torture device was used in Vietnam
Therefore Burge used electric testicle torture

Bernardine Dohrn is far more credible and an authority on terror than the records and the facts of the case. Theory always precedes Truth in Dewey/Hegelian thought.
You see G. Flint Taylor keeps most of the real facts of his twenty years of Burge Bucks out of the media - like a witness who had been tortured by MI-5 who stated "these people were not tortured - I was tortured by Mossad and MI-5" or the medical professionals - those tiny issues, as I recall.

I recall Fahey and O'Brien. They were tortured and murdered . . .but they were police officers.

G. Flint Taylor has been at bat in the Burge Circus, ever since convicted terrorist and Norghwestern Law School Marxist Diva had her record laundered by the fat-cats and 501(c)3 Brie Eaters.

Bernardine Dohrn, who may not hold an Illinois Law License, was given a Northwestern Law School sinecure and grand platform to "Off the Pigs!" via death by a thousand cuts.

I credit the odious Ms. Dorhn, the smarter and far more dangerous half of Billy Ayers, with G. Flint Taylor's media stink bait to lure the press and mythopoeically create the Burge Torture Narrative - the electronic testicle zapper that G. Flint Taylor had built and was allowed to bring to court. Who built that goofy gizmo for G. Flint anyway - it was not Urban Translator Wally Gator Bradley. Shoot, he and G. Flint were last seen wrassling on the court house floor for nickels and dimes.

Call Ms. Dohrn to witness and back track on the journalistic break crumbs leading to Dohrn's early posit that torture was systemic.

G. Flint Taylor will swing and miss again . . .but that is exactly what this Commie Cadillac Lawyer wants. No closure brings more fee

Detective Commander Jon Burge (CPD ret.) Talks! - The Movie:Starring Aaron Patterson as Jon Burge

Detective Commander Burge (CPD ret.): Friends, I'm going to to tell you of the great mysterious wonderful continent known as Africa. Africa, God's country. And he can have it...Well, sir, we left New York drunk and early on the morning of February second. After fifteen days on the water and six on the boat we finally arrived on the shores of Africa.
We at once proceded 300 miles into the heart of the jungle where I shot a polar bear. This bear was 6 foot 7 in his stocking feet and had shoes on. This bear was anemic and couldn't stand the cold climate. He was a rich bear and could afford to go away in the winter. From the day of our arrival we led an active life. The first morning saw us up at six, breakfasted, then back in bed at seven. This was our routine for the first three months. We finally got so we were back in bed at six-thirty.
One morning I was sitting in front of the cabin smoking some meat There wasn't a cigar store in the neighborhood. As I say, I was sitting in front of the cabin when I bagged six tigers. I bagged them, I bagged them to go away, but they hung around all afternoon. They were the most persistant tigers I've ever seen. The principal animals inhabiting the African jungle are moose, elk and Knights of Pythias.
Of course you all know what a moose is, that's big game. The first day I shot two bucks that was the biggest game we had. As I say you all know what a moose is? A moose runs around on the floor, and eats cheese and is chased by the cats. The elks on the other hand live up in the hills, and in the spring they come down for their annual convention. It is very interesting to watch them come down to the water-hole; and you should see them run when they find it is only water-hole. What they're looking for is a elk-a-hole. One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll never know. But that is entirely irrevent to what I was talking about. We took some pictures of the native girls, but they weren't developed. But we're going back again in a couple of weeks...

CPD Detective Verbal Kint Gives Up Jon Burge! 'Attitude, Dude!' Just the Way G. Flint Taylor Scripted it!

Verbal Kint: He's supposed to be Irish. Some say his father was German. Nobody ever believed he was real. Nobody ever knew him or saw anybody that ever worked directly for him. But to hear tell it, anybody could have worked for Burge. You never knew; that was his power. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.
One story the guys told me, the story I believe, was from his days in Turkey-bird land (Ireland, I guess.). There was a gang of black persons that wanted their own mob. They realized that to be in power, you didn't need guns or money or even numbers. You just needed the will to do what the other guy wouldn't. After a while, they come into power and then they come after Burge. He was small-time then, just running dope, they say.

(We see all of this in flashback)

They ( the black persons) come to his home in the afternoon, looking for his business. They find his wife and kids in the house and decide to wait for Soze, er Burge. He comes home to find his wife raped and children screaming. The Black Persons knew Burge was tough, not to be trifled with, so they let him know they meant business.

(Flashback: Black Person cuts one of the children's throats)

They tell him they want his territory, all his business. Burge looks over the faces of his family. Then he showed these men of will what will really was.

(Burge shoots two Black persons, then shoots his children and his wife as the last black person watches in surprised horror)

He tells him he would rather see his family dead than live another day after this. He lets the last Black Person go, waits until his wife and kids are in the ground, and then he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids. He kills their wives. He kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they live in, the stores they work in. He kills people that owe them money. And like that, he's gone. Underground. Attitude. It is All Attitude! Nobody's ever seen him since. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. "Rat on your Cop and Jon Burge will get you." But no one ever really believes.

(We see a shadow-encased figure of John Burge walking towards the camera in front of a huge tower of flame as Det. Verbal speaks about the process of revenge.)

G. Flint Taylor: Do you believe in him, Verbal?

Verbal Kint: Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him."
Well, I believe in God -- and the only thing that scares me is John Burge.
Attitude,Dude.

Burge Tosses A Great One Into Flint-Locke Lawsuit Lotto Empire

G.Flint Taylor wrestled Gator Bradley for the last scoop of Benjamins a judge tossed to G. G.Flint is all about the Benjamins ($100 in thick packaging or wire transfers -matters not).

To amass said Benjamins, G. Flint Taylor has played the the goof-ball Media like a Stradivarius. However, it might be Jon Burge, the disgraced former homicide detective, who goes to Carnegie Hall.

G. Flint and his sorcerers apprentice Locke Bowman have played a symphony from a One Note Samba concerning the alleged torture of black criminals, primarily murderers, and the Media has gone all Jonas Brothers for the Flint-Locke Group.

Burge has become the poster boy for police abuse/torture/systemic racism/ the heartbreak of psoriasis/plaque build-up/ and Jan Schakowsky. You name it Burge did it. However, again, Burge has not once been indicted for the things that he is said to have done. G.Flint is 0 for You Name It against Burge.

Now, the lawyers for Jon Burge are demanding that Jon Burge be tried out of this Land of I Believe!

Lawyers for former Chicago Police Cmdr. Jon Burge have asked to move his trial from Chicago, arguing that news reports have made it impossible for him to be treated fairly by a jury here.

The attorneys contend that "pervasive, prejudicial pretrial publicity" has damaged Burge's ability to get a fair shake. On Wednesday, the lawyers gave U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow a sampling of news accounts they say demonstrate the point.

Burge has been charged with perjury and obstruction of justice for allegedly concealing his involvement in torture. He has pleaded not guilty.

G.Flint will be gobbling up NPR and WTTW air-time like Ms. Pac-man on steroids! G.Flint'll be bouncing around the Federal Building like Yosemite Sam with a huge burr in his tighty whities! Justice? Wait until you hear the convoluted presentation of law and Justice from G. Flint! Mama Mumia!

Justice? G.Flint Taylor tells the very lazy Media what is Justice. Maybe a judge will try and remember what exactly that happens to be.

Black/White; Beverly Beatdowns;Burge and Bullshit in Chicago Media

Black on White crime happens all the time. The official excuse for it by City Officials and Chicago Media is 'Crime of opportunity' never a race crime, or Roger Baldwin forbid, a Hate Crime.

Two men face burglary charges after they allegedly broke into a retired police sergeant's home in Chicago's Mount Greenwood community. The former officer fired a gunshot at the men but no one was injured.

Kenneth Adams, 26, of Chicago, and Matthew Brown, 21, of Blue Island, were arrested a short time after the burglary Wednesday, police said.

Matthew Brown, of Blue Island, (left) and Kenneth Adams, of Chicago, are accused of breaking into a retired police sergeant's home in Chicago's Mount Greenwood community.

Adams was charged with one count of burglary and one count of aggravated assault. Brown was charged with one count of burglary, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said.

They were arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near 111th Street and Kedzie Avenue, a few blocks from where the burglary happened, police said. ( Emphasis My Own)

After the two suspects got inside, the retired sergeant, in his 50s, fired a shot at them, but no one was injured.

With our Chicago News Talkers and ink-slingers the cop-out is always 'the underlying economic realities' . . .and a call for Racial Healing - meaning 'shut the #$%^ up Whitey' is the answer.

I have black neighbors and they moved here to Morgan Park to get away from the Free Fire Zone of Englewood and Grand Crossing. Their little guys play sewer cover baseball with the Conways, Radowicz's, Murphys, and Beemsterbohrs kids. They go to Clissold and St. Cajetans. We are neighbors.

The black Thugs coming into our neighborhood are from elsewhere in Chicago and the south suburbs; but that is not deemed news worthy by the Chicago Media, nor a topic for Fifty Aldermen who appoint Blue Ribbon panels to study Goose Liver and end America's involvement in Iraq, while dancing out of Prosecutor Fitzy's Spotlight. Fitzy is doing a solid for the Alderman - he is going to nail Burge on some BS charge of perjury. It is something - not a public execution of Burge, but something.

Black on white crime happens because it can. Last year two white kids were horrifically murdered in Knoxville, TN - no big deal:

E. G. Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian:

According to news reports, Christian and Newsom had gone on a date at a local restaurant on Saturday, January 6, 2007, but did not return home. During their night out, the couple was "hijacked, bound and blindfolded and taken back to Lemaricus Devall 'Slim' Davidson's rented house on Chipman Street."[4]

Christian's parents found her abandoned Toyota 4-Runner two blocks away from the Chipman Street house the following Monday with the help of her mobile phone provider. An envelope recovered from the vehicle yielded fingerprint evidence that led police to Lemaricus Davidson and 2316 Chipman Street. When police went to the address on Tuesday, January 9, they found the home unoccupied and Christian's body in a trash can in the kitchen.

According to the testimony of the Knox County Acting Medical Examiner at the subsequent trial of Eric Boyd, Newsom was repeatedly raped and then blindfolded, gagged, arms and feet bound and his head covered. Barefoot, he was either led or dragged outside the house to a set of nearby railroad tracks, where a gun was placed to the back of his head and fired. He was shot twice more, once in the neck and once in the back. His body was then set afire. Christian's death would come only after hours of sexual torture, medical examiner Mileusnic-Polchan testified. Christian suffered horrific injuries to her vagina, anus and mouth. She was not only raped but savaged with "an object," the doctor testified. She was beaten in the head. Some type of chemical was poured down her throat, and her body, including her bleeding and battered genital area, likely scrubbed with the same solution - all while Christian was alive, the forensic expert said. She was then "hog-tied," with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered tightly with a small trash bag and her body stashed inside five large trash bags before being placed inside a large trash can and covered with sheets. Christian died slowly, suffocating, the medical examiner said.[5]

The reaction by a 'Commentator' - "as bad as this crime is, the apparent absence of any interest group involvement or any other 'angle' might also explain the lack of coverage."

It's all good!

The News Media gets its Burge on every week with a 'chilling' replay of G. Flint Taylor's patented account of what might have happened in Area 2 to the criminal victims that Taylor represents.

The fact of the matter is that Jon Burge has never once been brought to trial on any evidence of 'systemic racist torture,' let alone convicted of any crime. But with the constant and emphatic attention to the G. Flint Taylor Playbook, the Chicago Media has made Jon Burge the poster boy of racism and by extension every Chicago Police Officer -black, white, pale, ruddy or olive complexioned.

I have no idea whether or not Jon Burge tortured anyone. I find it particularly unsettling that every news account, be it Sasha Abramsky's Mother Jones article or Carol Marin's Wal-Mart version, of the torture saga includes G. Flint Taylor's electric shock box/testicle machine that he had built to 'please the court' of what 'might' have happened. The end -'undermining any and all confidence in the American Justice System' by GETTING BURGE - justifies the means - 'everything G.Flint and the Media can toss at Burge with the help of dodgy politicians.

However, black on white crime is happening and it is not being addressed at all.

Crimes against the people who happen to be white in the 19th Ward of Chicago are ignored and mocked by the Chicago Media. No columnist, nor editorial board, has ever, nor ever will do so it seems, seriously address this social phenomenon.

Race Matters. It spikes real estate activity.
